CLEAN ISLANDS CLEAN BEACHES PROJECT
We know all about the plastics polluting our oceans. We wanted to measure how much is floating in our waters and how much washes ashore. So we adopted an island. A tiny, uninhabited island with a beautiful beach called Gehh. It looks like the one in the picture here, but bigger. About the size of a couple football fields. We are going to do a simple research project here. Clean the trash off the island, and then return every year to inventory what has washed ashore. Simple. The data would be telling. And we hope others will adopt islands or beaches of their own so we can pool our data and get a very clear picture of pollution in our oceans. Watch the video and read the blog articles below to learn all about our progress. Spoiler alert: We still have a lot to clean up.

As we continue our clean up project, keep checking back to see updates on our work! We can't wait to have the island completely cleaned and we look forward to the data we will collect in a year, when we document what washes ashore!
